Ecozones
Five Colorado ecozones are incorporated into the design of the Fallis Elementary Learning Landscape. Zones were determined by considering existing site conditions and plant viability out of the natural habitat conditions.

Water Use
Each ecozone was calculated for water consumption. They range between xeric and hydric, turf being the main water consumer. Calculations comparing existing water usage and proposed design help emphasize the necessacity of action in public landscapes especially during times of drought.

Curricular
Fallis Elementary's design incorporates all the educational subjects, allowing the multi-cultural student body access to all the subject activities in the outdoor classroom. The diagram shows general subject locations and lists classroom activities and lessons for the playground.

Budget
A budget was prepared and adjusted as the design developed. All aspects of the design and build phase were considered into the total budget. Salvaging equipment and materials for other programs eliminated some removal costs.
