ink on paper
Drawing with a pen forces me to incorporate the initial gesture, accepting a misdrawn line which pushes further depth into the drawing.charcoal
Charcoal is my ideal drawing medium. I can get the bold blacks contrasting with the lightness of the paper and every shade of gray in between. It's a fast medium that forgives the ambitious and sometimes unruly artist. It is messy, but if that's the only sacrifice that has to be made; it's totally worth it.graphite
Graphite can reach those extreme dark light contrast that I most favor; however it takes a lot more coverage under my hand. I continue to experiment to see what can be accomplished, but it's not the first medium I reach for.oil pastels
Abstractions of landscapes. Laughing inside at the silly ways my mind incorporates the everday into a drawing. Fun and free-flowing.collage
Collages created using my photography of everyday landscapes and other images allow the viewer to create the storyline for the illustration. Pieces featured in an art show at The Mercury Cafe in Denver, Colorado.painting
I've only dabbled in painting, but I just picked up some oils and I can already tell I'm going to enjoy playing with these. Mostly I have acrylic in this collection. That will change soon.watercolor
My subjects are my life. The paintings evoke memories. I attempt to mix charcoal and graphite into my watercolor paintings to define edges and give contrasting tones.photography
capturing elements within the everyday landscape that are interesting, yet often unnoticed.
